Cookie was my friend and my heart is broken. She was fun, a confidant and was sooooo smart. My heart goes out to her husband and family.

Howard Engnell saw my question to Jan and informed me that she has a Facebook page.
Her married name is Lydia Wardlaw Brown. I just posted a greeting to her. Wouldn't it be nice if several of us from Morris Park did so?

Hi Jan, Lately I have been haunted by memories of Lydia Wardlaw, the African-American girl in our 2-4th grade classes. Do you know what became of her? She must have been very lonely as she was treated as invisible. Looking back, I seems so cruel.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Now I would like to pass them on to you. Hope you have a wonderful day. Cookie

Hi neighbor it's been along time since we talked. We lived so close yet rarely saw each other. Just wanted to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Sorry to hear about Bill. He was my homeroom "buddy" for three years and a favorite of Ralph Blake.
I have great memories of Bill - his freshman year a Valpariso, I traveled to Indiana to visit him for a fall social event and brought home a huge teddy bear.
He was a great guy.

COOKIE: SORRY I AM A DAY LATE, HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY
Happy Birthday- I saw your name on the site and the vision of walking to the Leola theater, wearing "Eisenhower" jackets flashed in front of me. Yours was pink and mine was blue.
Funny!
