I'm so sorry to learn of Sharon's death. She was a friend in High School and so good about sending greetings on this web site. It must have been rather sudden as she was sending birthday greetings not that long ago. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She was a pleasure to know.
It is so sad to lose another classmate. Sharon was a lovely lady who shared her gifts with many. We attended a warm get together at her home a few years ago where we enjoyed catching up with other Roosevelt grads. We chatted, laughed & reminisced for hours. She prepared a delicious meal & sent us all home with a few maroon & gold souveniers. A lovely lady! May she rest in peace. Joyce & Kermit Roberg
I too, didn't really know her. However, as previously noted, I have been so impressed and touched by the birthday greetings and other notes she has sent everyone over the years. Her passing seems so sudden, and I know, that I, for one will miss seeing her notes to us letting us all know we have not been forgotten and she still is here, remembering and caring about us. She will, be deeply, deeply missed.
Sharon was a genuine supporter of any and all military service....... a true booster for greetings........ and gracious with her home to classmates. I texted with her and she was so proud she remained employed into her 70's. Her kindness will be missed.
So sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. Missed her mini reunions. Loved getting her little notes on fb. Great lady with a gracious heart! RIP Sharon. Carole Erickson (Van Dusen)
Sharon had a Roosevelt mini reunion almost every year at her home in Ft Pierce, F;orida. I have been going for years and always meet new old friends that I had not seen since high school. I went to the last one in January of this year and there were only a couple of us there. It was obvious she was slipping fast so at least I got a chance to thank her for all of us who she so graciously entertained and fed throughout the years. I will miss her calls and email. May she rest in peace.
I only knew Sharon through the kind birthday wishes she posted on our website. Her greetings showed both love and compassion. It is sad to say good bye to this fine lady. Sincerest sympathy to her family and close friends.
Sharon and I grew up about two blocks apart, the irony is that we didn’t really cross paths until she invited me to one of her mini reunions.
It was then that I was privileged to know her as the gracious hostess, consummate party planner, quick wit, and all around special person, that she was.
Sharon invited me to one of her mini reunions, and I don’t even remember how we made contact, but I do remember what a wonderful time that I had at her home.
She was one of the most loving, and giving people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
Even when she called me a, “Shit head,” although she apologized afterward, it was for saying it, not because I wasn’t, she made that perfectly clear.
I used to travel to Florida every winter for just a couple of weeks to visit a cousin near Tampa.
If I could time it to correspond with the her reunions super, but if I couldn’t she still welcomed both my cousin, and me with open arms, ample rum and cokes, and unbelievable meals.
I will so miss the many phone conversations that she shared with me over the years.
I will miss Sharon, her quick wit, and easy charm for as long as I live.
Her passing might be a blessing, because she is now free of pain, but it leaves a hole in my life that she filled.
