So surprised to read about Doug.  He really has a great person.  Sincere sympathy to his family.

I knew Doug from high school.

My prayers are with you.

So sorry to read  that Doug has passed away.  What better way to go, though.  I was pleased to read that he had not been ill a long while and that it went fast.  We should all be so fortunate. Doug was such fun in high school and I am so glad to learn a bit about him as an adult through the comments of his friends.  He will definitely be missed.

I would not have known about Doug's passing yesterday, if it were not for Sandy Scheer and Linda Ackerson, whom I reached first on the phone this a.m..  Thank you both for your sharing.  I feel a strange  grief but more joy as Doug and I had just gotten reconnected through e-mail regarding his Bible study, with so many of you guys; Billy Bakken, Jim Rook( bless you, Jim, you had a hard part in this homegoing), Harold Hendrickson, Duane C. and Larry S. , and so many more he shared with me but I cannot remember at this moment.   It has only been about a month now. Doug and I had just spoken not more than 10 day's ago about his life, his Damascus road  experience as he called it; like the Apostle Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus in the Scriptures.  He shared about how proud he was of all his family, children and grandchildren(all twelve..wow, so wonderful).   He shared about how proud he was of all of his friends in the study and others as well as sharing  his concerns for those who were facing physical challenges..and his prayers for them.

Of course we recalled some of those grade-school day memories which made us laugh a lot.  I told him I would be praying every other week for the study as my life, even though a church going one, was really changed by Jesus Christ in college and of course ever since.

To John, Paul and David and  your wives and children I wish you blessings, comfort and peace at this time with his homegoing; and to you brothers as well.  Grandpa will be missed for certain.  Doug made a definite difference in this life to many a person and I feel blessed to have gotten to hear his sharing, in what then we did not know were his final days here; but beginning ones in eternity with "King Jesus" as was stated.

We thank you "Yeshua" for this generous son of yours and for the knowledge of where he is.  May we all be recognizing the "signs of the times" and that you are tarrying only because your love is so great for mankind ,and you are not willing that any should perish.  You do not take lightly the death of your children.

We praise you Father, for Doug's life with us.

So sad to hear of Doug Kahn's passing.  We were "class clowns" together in the yearbook, and shared many humerous times as seniors at Roosevelt.  I am glad I "chatted" with him through this website prior to our 50th reunion.  I'm sure his sons and many grandkids will miss him tremendously.  Thanks to Kay (Flattem) Bonde for letting me know way down here in Texas about Doug's passing.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Doug's passing.  We had reconnected in the last few years when my husband (Wayne) invited Doug to go fishing.  Doug invited Wayne to Bible study which he enjoyed very much. Doug became a wonderful Christian and he brought many of his friends to know and love the Lord.  he is in the arms of Jesus now.

I knew Doug since we were in grade school.  And even though I didn't hang out with him, we shared some time in classes, especially choir groups. He always seemed to have an impish smile even in the midst of if taking an opponent down in a wrestling match. I still remember that smile. Knowing the smile is now only a memory has saddened me and played on my mind every day since I heard of his death.  My deepest condolences to his family for their loss.
